GOING TO DREAM BIG

Real Estate

In four days, I am heading to Orlando, FL to attend my first FL REALTORS® Convention! There are two days of seminars, classes, networking events, luncheons, and entertainers all geared toward Real Estate and positioning of the leaders representing our state and our career. Rules and regulations that are current, up and coming, or have been voted upon are (I assume) presented, discussed, and adjusted as seen fit. Obviously this is would just be at the “voicing our opinions” and brainstorming stage, but it should be an opportunity to get acclimated to the system. All too often one goes through their career or even their live living obliviously to what is actually happening in the background to allow them the more luxurious parts (if you will) without the fight. Not comparing it to war, but it’s almost like those who forget the fight our armed forces give to see that we live with Freedom! Many meetings, votes, conversations, funds, and arrangements go into what goes on daily—the people who give their time to see that things are working smoothly and in our favor usually do so for little appreciation or funds in return, and they are the much need glue holding it all together. Now, I am saying that some (possibly many) do not volunteer for boards or sign up for service for unethical purposes. All too often there is always a “bad apple” looking to get reimbursement for his vote, his hire of a certain company or person, his signature to approve, his silence, etc. I myself have been on and witnessed several boards where there was unethical activity by some or most of the representatives. For example, a president may be wealthy, steer the others by monetary gain to agree with him/her, have association funds used towards their own personal uses/advantages, and even pay payroll employees from an associations funds for work on his/her personal homes/units. If things happen on a home association level in this manner, just imagine how unethical and harmful things can get when we are talking about world government, the richest in the world, and the most powerful people. It’s eerie to even let your mind go there. For these reasons, I am rarely involved with government. Yes, I vote. Yes, I have even lobbied in Tallahassee and written many letters to make sure my voice is heard, but I do not let it consume me, and I participate no more than I see fit. I am more than appreciative to those who sacrifice every day and their families.—I cannot fathom the stress, pain, and struggle that go into a loved one being at war or even having the possibility of being called to war at any moment. With that being said, I do believe in supporting my supporters! Giving back financially and physically in the best ways I see fit. This is why I am joining the governance meetings. I want to be knowledgeable—after all knowledge is power. I am excited to fill you in on the details of this trip and all of the knowledge that came along with it. Cheers! Namaste…
